My picture has been selected to be displayed in the Foto Zumstein, Bern window shop. Each week they select a winner picture from submitted pictures and they print it at about 40×60 cm size and display it on their window shop, and I’m the winner of week 19, 2010

Serious – on display

Memasuki bulan suci Ramdhan tahun ini, saya ingin mencoba untuk meningkatkan hobby fotografi saya menjadi sesuatu yang lebih berarti dan bermanfaat bagi saya pribadi maupun orang lain, yaitu dengan mencoba menghubungkan foto-foto yang saya ambil dengan firman Allah dalam Al Quran. Hal ini akan mendorong saya untuk untuk mencari ayat-ayat Al Quran yang berkaitan dengan foto yang akan saya upload, sehingga saya insya allah akan bisa lebih memahami isi Al Quran. Untuk itu saya telah membuat The Story Behind photoblog, yang insya allah akan saya update secara regular dengan foto-foto dan ayat Al Quran yang terkait dengan isi foto tsb.

Saya berharap anda bisa menikmati foto-foto yang saya tampilkan dalam web tsb, dan juga bisa mengambil hikmah dari ayat-ayat Al Quran yang menyertainya.

Entering the holy month Ramadhan this year, I would like to make my photography hobby to be something more meaningfull for myself and the other people as well. I’m trying to link my picture with the words from Allah in Al Quran.
This will force me to search the related ayah in Al Quran before I upload my picture. I hope this will help me to understand more Al Quran. Therefore I’ve created The Story Behind photoblog which insya allah I’ll update regularly with my pictures and related ayah from Al Quran.

I hope you can enjoy the pictures I put in that website, and also you can get the hikmah from the related ayah Al Quran from each pictures.

Fasnacht is a yearly carnaval in Switzerland. For city of Bern, it was started on 26th Feb 2009 and last for 3 days, with a big parade on the last day. Baby, children, teenager, adult, grandma and grandpa, all wear wear special custom or make-up, even when they do not participate in the parade.

This winter is the hardest I’ve experienced since I moved to Switzerland in 2001. The snow from the end of December is still not yet cleared. The morning temperature can be as low as minus 10 degree Celcius. But this condition does not make us afraid to go out for taking pictures

Me and my Indonesian friends decided to go to the coldest part of Switzerland for taking pictures. This place is the place where the lowest temperature has been recorded in Switzerland, which was -41.8°C on 12 January, 1987. It’s got ‘Little Siberia’ nickname since then. But today is not that bad, we only saw that the temperature went down to -10°C only and it was sunny until the afternoon.

European football championship, Euro 2008, is happening in Switzerland and Austria right now. Holland has an advantage of playing their first 3 matches in the same city, Bern. Tens of thousands of their supporter came to Bern. During the Holland match day, Bern turn into orange city. You could find a Holland supporter wearing orange color almost everywhere.
